Appointments

We see patients by appointment only. Walk-ins are discouraged because of long waiting times. Emergencies are handled immediately, but all other cases will be given an appointment time and asked to return then. Please call before you come to the office so that you are not inconvenienced. Same-day appointments are made with the doctor on call or the nurse practitioner. Please bring all medications you currently are taking to your appointment.

Because of the number of calls we receive, you may be placed on hold. However, we will answer your call as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Please note that all cancellations must be received 24 hours in advance of your appointment to avoid a charge.

Phone Calls and Prescription Refills

An office nurse handles all of these calls with direction from the physician. Please do not call for a prescription if you are not under current care for that illness. You will need to be seen. Also, it is our policy not to call in prescriptions, particularly narcotics, after hours or on weekends.

All refill requests must be made by the patient or guardian. It is your responsibility to know when your medication will run out. If refills are needed, call during regular office hours when your chart can be reviewed. When calling, please have your prescription bottle handy as we require all the information from the bottle to refill it.

After-hours Emergencies

A doctor is on call after 5:00 p.m. and on weekends for emergencies. Call 864-833-9100 to beep the doctor on call for Laurens Family Practice. Please hold all non-emergency calls until the next business day. After beeping Laurens Family Practice, you should receive a call back within 15 minutes; if not, please call again.

Billing and Financial Policies

Because it is difficult to keep up with insurance changes, please notify us of any changes in your health coverage. If we do not participate in your health plan, you are required to pay in full at time of service. If you cannot pay in full, you must make arrangements with our office coordinator before you see the doctor for any appointment. We will be happy to file your insurance for you and have the payment sent to you. If you are eligible for Medicaid, please bring your card to every appointment or you will be required to pay for that visit before being seen.
